Emma’s First Missions Trip Scheduled for July 2014

We are thrilled to announce that our daughter is embarking on her first missions trip. There are so many things I could say right now. Volumes!! One thing that stands out above the rest is an article that was written about Emma in our local paper, The Daily Inter Lake. The article was part of an ongoing feature on High School seniors. At the end of the article, the author wrote:

“As a career, Covill envisions several options, either working at a university or advertising company doing graphic design work, owning a painting/photography studio or creating or organizing a nonprofit to travel around the world teaching art to children who don’t have access to art materials.”

““I hope that my art will make a difference for someone,” Covill said.”

Who would have thought the opportunities would come so soon! We invite you to pray for our family, especially Emma. Prayer is powerful.

Following is Emma’s letter that she asked that we share with our friends and subscribers.

Dear friends and family,

I am so incredibly excited to let you know that I have the opportunity to go on a short-term mission trip to Belize this summer, July 7th-14th! Through the Goodlettsville Church of the Nazarene, we will be traveling to Central America to be involved in service projects, outreach programs, ministry through sports, and much, much more.

Our mixed group of teens and parents, experienced travelers and first time mission participants is in for a moving experience, helping those less fortunate than ourselves. The people of Belize suffer from poverty, broken homes, and a lack of Christ in the community. It is the least we can do to show our love, support, and bring the power of God’s grace and love to the lives of those desperately in need of receiving the word. I am so blessed to be a part of this mission.

I would like to invite you to partner with me in this missions experience financially and through prayer. The total cost of the trip is $1,500 which I need to raise by May 25th. I am also seeking prayer partners to pray for our group, the ministries, and the people of Belize and the trip in general every day it is in motion. I, and the people we are reaching out toward, would greatly appreciate support in any form. If you desire to partner with me financially, please send checks to myself which are made payable to GoodNaz (they will be tax deductible if my name is nowhere on the check).

If you would like more information, feel free to contact me at any time by email at ecovill@watkins.edu. Thank you for your support! I look forward to keeping you updated on our progress in the days leading up to the trip and telling you all about the valuable experience and knowledge gained afterward.
